"Nobody told me about the side effects of prescription pain drugs"

I believe we are going to hear a lot more about professional players, numbing the pain, with prescription pain medications.  But a greater concern is the influence on young athletes and the effects on the growing and maturing neuro-muscular skeletal systems, as well as the GI system.   I strongly recommend parents to consider the drug-less and safe treatment Chiropractic health care provides.

If you have a question or require more information about the benefits of chiropractic care, please give a call 1-805-527-7246 or email drwaynepress@yahoo.com

TEXTING AND YOUR NECK EQUALS PAIN?

Texting for many people is an important tool for communicating at work, play and most daily activities.  However, it may be causing or aggravating the pain in your neck. See the Article Here

My suggestion is to hold the mobile device at eye level or at least half the time when doing this activity.  And of course, avoid texting and driving.  Dr. Press

Chiropractic: Research Says... Part II

Here is a great study supporting chiropractic therapy (click on heading for full abstract and access to complete study):

Bottom-line:  '...Chiropractic spinal manipulative therapy is associated with significantly greater improvement in condition-specific functioning.'

Chiropractic: Research Says...

I frequently hear there is no good research to support chiropractic care.  This is the furthest from the truth.  For the next view blogs, I will focus on some older and recent studies that indicate the benefits of chiropractic care.  Let us start here (click on heading for full abstract and access to complete study):

Randomised comparison of chiropractic and hospital outpatient management for low back pain: results from extended follow up BMJ 1995; 311 doi: http://dx.doi.org/10.1136/bmj.311.7001.349 (Published 05 August 1995) Cite this as: BMJ 1995;311:349

Bottom-line outcome:  '...those treated by chiropractic derive more benefit and long term satisfaction than those treated by hospitals.'

Our President has Declared Today (April Fools Day, not Kidding) the AHA (ObamaCare) is a Success.

The facts are not all in.  But for the little we do know about actual numbers and stats (no real data yet provided from the Obama administration)  regarding the Affordable Health Care Act, we have to break it down first, as follows:

President said, " More then 3.1 million young adults...have gained insurance under under this law..."

The facts: Here

President said, "7.1 million", signed up for the AHA.

The facts: Here

And how many were actually uninsured?

The facts:   Here

Reliable information about health care decisions is very important. I will continue to provide the facts, you will have to decide.

The Problem Grows - Drug Addiction

The current Vermont Governor speaks out (Article here) about a serious problem confronting every state in our nation:
"In every corner of our state, heroin and opiate drug addiction threatens us. It threatens the safety that has always blessed our state. It is a crisis bubbling just beneath the surface that may be invisible to many, but is already highly visible to law enforcement, medical personnel, social service and addiction treatment providers, and too many Vermont families. It requires all of us to take action before the quality of life that we cherish so much is compromised".
Vermont is not alone in this crisis.

I will talk about this problem again and again, because it demands attention and the appropriate solution.  Dr. Press
