And the Back Pain Guidelines say...

Here is the purpose of the updated guidelines:

"The purpose of this American College of Physicians (ACP) guideline is to provide treatment guidance based on the efficacy, comparative effectiveness, and safety of noninvasive pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic treatments for acute (<4 weeks), subacute (4 to 12 weeks), and chronic (>12 weeks) low back pain in primary care". The rest is here

Start with the well known adverse effects of pain-killers:Read here

The bottom line of the updated guidelines is to try other natural methods of treatment, that have some supporting research as to effectiveness.

As a doctor of chiropractic (DC), with over thirty years of clinical practice in the evaluation and treatment of back pain, I say this:

If you have back pain, give me call to see if chiropractic can help you.   Dr. Press
